ICAST 2024

23 October 2024, Ghana Aviation Training Academy

About The Event

Doctoral Consortium

The International Conference on Adaptive Science and Technology (ICAST) invites doctoral candidates to submit extended abstracts for participation in the doctoral consortium program.

Aims

  • Offer a platform for doctoral candidates to interact with peers and experienced academics regarding their research.
  • Provide participants the chance to build and enhance their academic and professional networks.
  • Cultivate a supportive and mentoring community for doctoral candidates.

Scope

Doctoral candidates who have reached a stage in their research where they have obtained early or initial results are particularly encouraged to participate. Works at the proposal stage, provided a formal proposal has been completed, will also be considered. While topics related to the conference's themes are encouraged, submissions from other areas of Computing research are also welcome.

Format

The envisioned format for the consortium is a combination of invited talks or workshops, panel discussions, and breakaway sessions in smaller groups, led by senior academics, to present and discuss the candidates’ research. Candidates are expected to prepare a 20-minute presentation followed by a group discussion on their work. After the breakaway sessions, a panel discussion and feedback session will be held to summarize the key points of the group discussions.

Candidates are also required to create an A1-sized poster showcasing the key aspects of their work. These posters will be displayed in a common area at the venue, offering candidates the opportunity to engage in further discussions about their research with the broader community of participants in the consortium.
